See who won All-Ohio honors in high school lacrosse, plus girls all-region selections (2024)

The Ohio state coaches associations for boys and girls lacrosse have released their high school all-state teams.

OHSAA Division I state runner-up St. Xavier had five all-state selections.

Junior Khalif Hocker was named first-team all-state at attack. He was the only local first-team pick.

Trent Yelton was second team at goalie, and Daniel Vollmer at short-stick defensive midfield.

Tyler Stegbauer was third team on defense and Magnus Violet third team on face-off specialists.

Hocker and Yelton were also named All-Americans recently by USA Lacrosse.

Springboro had three members of the all-state second team in Connor Smith (midfield), Creed McDonald (attack) and Scott Michaud (goalie).

For regional runner-up Mason, Peter Marietta was second-team midfield and Tanner Levin second-team defense.

Moeller had one second-team all-state pick in Brennen Hickey (attack), and two third-team picks in Talan DeBruler (long-stick midfield) and Bo Hegarty (Short-stick defensive midfield).

Lakota East’s Ryan Barone was second-team all-state on defense.

Local third-team all-state picks include Loveland’s Zach Gleason (midfield), Milford’s Luke Barkimer (Milford) and Sycamore’s Garret Brenkert (defense).

Kings had one third team pick in A.J. Johnson on attack, and an honorable mention pick in Sam Lockwood (long-stick midfield).

Lakota West senior Carson Cheek was honorable mention as face-off specialist.

In Division II, regional runner-up Fenwick had five all-state selections.

Senior Matt Swisher was first-team on attack. Fenwick had three second-team picks in midfielder Cooper Mulligan, attack Parker Beuerlein and short-stick defensive midfield Bruce Bray. Joe Farlaino was honorable mention long-stick midfield.

La Salle had one second-team pick in Drew Schrudde in midfield. La Salle’s Wesley Limle (attack) and Charlie Roesel (goalie) were honorable mention.

Turpin’s Luke Elliott was second team on defense.

Indian Hill had a second-team pick in Jaxon Frye (long-stick midfield). Penn Picton was third-team on defense.

Wyoming’s Jackson Palermo was third-team all-state at goalie and Gabe Scruggs was honorable mention midfield.

Mariemont’s Andrew Duckwall was third-team defense and Eli Hernandez honorable mention on defense.

In honorable mention, Clinton-Massie’s Mason Martini (attack) and Edgewood’s Corbin Wiggins (face-off).

Girls lacrosse all-state

Division I

Cincinnati had two first-team all-state selections in Sycamore’s Carly Thiel (midfield) and Paige Harris (defense).

Sycamore had a second-team pick in Jordana Ronis-Tobin (attack).

Other second-team all-state picks are Kings senior Kenzie Beck (midfield) and Springboro teammates Caroline Ling (attack) and Chloe Downing (defense).

Kings made the Division I state semifinals.

Ling was co-attack of the year.

Division II

Region 8 champion and state semifinalist Indian Hill had two first-team all-state picks in Lexi Larsen (midfield) and Michelle Lindberg (midfield). Larsen was named Division II midfielder of the year.

Mariemont had three first-team all-state selections in Brynna O’Brien (goalie), Cece Kuwatch (attack) and Jane Muller (defense). Mariemont had two second-team selections in Charlotte Soller (midfield) and Emmy Tepe (defense).

Wyoming has two first-team picks in Ella Hummel (defense) and Riya Jain (attack).

Ursuline had two second-team all-state selections in Grace Bevington (midfield) and Harper Hodgett (goalie).

CHCA had one second-team all-state selection in Macy Lashells (attack).

Girls All-Region

The girls all-region teams were released along with the all-state selections.

Goalkeeper of the year: Brynna Hall (St. Ursula).

Defender of the year: Paige Harris (Sycamore).
