Christian Wake Service will be held 7:30 P. M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home Mrs. Daisy Jones Gilliam, 86, of 624 Overbrook Road, a retired Richmond public school teacher, died Saturday in a local hospital. Mrs.
Gilliam taught for more than 40 years and retired from teaching English at Maggie Walker High School in the 1950s. She also had taught at the former Sydney Elementary School and Armstrong High School. A native of Richmond, She was a graduate of Virginia Union University and received a master's degree from Columbia University Teachers College. She was a member of the American and Richmond retired teachers' associations, the National Association of University Women and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Mrs.
Gilliam also was a member of First African Baptist Church where she was a founder of and president for 38 years of the East End Auxiliary and a member of the Lott Carey Foreign Missionary Circle, Margaret R. Johnson Missionary and Educational Circle, Pastor Church Aid Society, W.T. Johnson Bible Class and Older Adult Organization. Mrs. Gilliam, who was an organizer of the Sunday Forum of Richmond, had done volunteer work at the Baptist Children's Home in Ettrick and atsenior centers in Petersburg.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jeannette Pretlow of Hampton; a son, Nathaniel Gilliam of Richmond, and a sister, Mrs. Magnolia Jones of Richmond. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at First African Baptist Church.

Field of Colonial Heights. WASHINGTON, D.C. Miss Leonara Parker, formerly of Woodford. Marsh Part Of Taiwan Delegation Mayor Henry L. Marsh III will be a member of a United States Conference of Mayors delegation that will visit Taiwan March 14 through 22 for a study of local government there and to help develop trade relations.
Marsh, accompanied by his wife, will leave from San Francisco. Their trip to the Far East will include a visit to Hong Kong. The mayors' delegation will be sponsored in Taiwan by the Coordination for North American Affairs and the Chinese National Association of Commerce and Industry. Marsh was a member of a similar delegation in 1978 that toured Japan the People's Republic of China. Marsh said he and his wife will be traveling at no expense to the city.
Former Teacher Succumbs at 94 Mrs. Edna Smith Roberts, 94, a former teacher in Hanover and Gloucester county public schools, died yesterday at her home in Mechanicsville. Mrs. Roberts, a 1906 graduate of the former Woman's College of Richmond, taught at schools in Gloucester for a time and later in Hanover. Mrs.
Roberts was the widow of Lloyd C. Roberts, and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. There are no immediate survivors. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at WestSimmons Funeral Home in Mechanicsville.
Burial will be in Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery..
